Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko commented on the withdrawal from the presidential race of the head of the Belarusian Union of Officers Sergei Bobrikov and the chief ideologist of Minsk Olga Chemodanova.
The head of state spoke on this topic while answering journalists’ questions during a visit to the renovated Traktor stadium in Minsk.

The President noted that he was in favor of all parties and large public organizations nominating their candidates.
According to the head of state, Bobrikov and Chemodanova are his supporters.
We will fight together for the course that we have long defined, Lukashenko said.
The withdrawal of Bobrikov and Chemodanova from the presidential race became known last week.
In total, the Central Electoral Commission registered seven initiative groups.
In addition to the groups of Bobrikov and Chemodanova, the groups of Lukashenko, the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus Sergei Syrankov, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus Oleg Gaidukevich, the leader of the Russian Party of Turks and Turks Alexander Khizhnyak and the individual entrepreneur Anna Kanopatskaya were allowed to collect signatures.
The signature collection, which started on November 7, will end on December 6.
The period from December 7 to 21 is scheduled for the acceptance of documents for registration of candidates, from December 22 to 31 – registration, from January 1 to 25 – pre-election campaigning.
Early voting will begin on January 21. The main voting day is January 26.
The election results will be determined no later than February 5. The second round of elections, if necessary, will take place no later than February 9.
