Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has warned of the threat of the Cold War reincarnating into a hot phase.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry made a corresponding statement on December 5 at the OSCE Ministerial Council.
Lavrov's words are quoted by TASS .
What Lavrov said about the threat of the Cold War turning hot
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the United States and its allies have thrown all agreements in the area of arms control into the trash.
This was done, Lavrov continued, to return the North Atlantic Alliance to the political forefront.
According to the minister, after the disgrace in Afghanistan, the West needed a new unifying enemy.
The result is a reincarnation of the Cold War, only now with a much greater risk of it turning into a hot war, said the head of Russian diplomacy.
In his opinion, the whole problem in Moscow’s relations with Washington is that it does not keep its word.
They promised not to promote NATO, but did exactly the opposite, Lavrov gave an example.
