It recently became known that a member of the Kalinovsky Regiment, a terrorist organization recognized in the country, was extradited to Belarus.
According to available information, we are talking about Vasily Veremeychik, a native of Soligorsk (Minsk region).
The ONT TV channel reported this with reference to the State Security Committee of the Republic.
Who is this man?
It is noted that the extradited person is a citizen of Belarus, born in 1990.
Two years ago, he took part in military operations on the territory of Ukraine as part of the terrorist organization “Kalinovskiy Regiment” (call sign – Patsuk).
According to the head of the KGB Investigative Department, Konstantin Bychek, the defendant was brought to Belarus “as part of international cooperation” at the request of the State Security Committee.
Veremeychik was wanted “in connection with a criminal case concerning the activities of the so-called Kalinovsky regiment, recognized in Belarus as a terrorist organization.”
The inevitability of punishment
This is another reminder to those who have encroached on the independence, territorial integrity and constitutional order of the Republic of Belarus about the principle of the inevitability of punishment, the KGB representative noted.
According to him, citizens who have taken the “path of terrorism and extremism” and who are haunted by the peaceful existence of Belarus should know that “Belarusian justice will catch up with them anywhere in the world.”
For reference
Extradition is a form of international cooperation between states in the fight against crime, consisting of the arrest and transfer by one state to another (at the request of the latter) of persons suspected or accused of committing a crime (for trial), or persons already convicted by the judicial authorities of another state (for the execution of the sentence).
