The work program of Alexander Lukashenko, who arrived in the Islamic state, has started in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
Negotiations between the President of Belarus and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif have begun.
Before this, the distinguished guest spoke with the Deputy Prime Minister and head of the local Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Ishaq Dar.
As reported by the press service of the President of Belarus, the latter, in accordance with the state protocol of his country, briefly outlined the key points of the visit program.
The minister also spoke about the current state of bilateral relations.
Then Alexander Lukashenko went to the residence of the head of the Pakistani government.
There, at the porch, he was met personally by Shahbaz Sharif. The politicians took pictures (a company of the honor guard took part in the ceremony), and the anthems of the two countries were played.
Afterwards, Lukashenko and Sharif planted a tree on the territory of the residence, and then headed for negotiations.
The meeting is reportedly being held in a restricted format, but it is expected that members of the delegations will take part in it later.
According to available information, the key topic of the conversation was the expansion of trade and economic ties between Islamabad and Minsk.
