It recently became known that the European Union has allocated a substantial financial sum of 52 million euros to Poland.

The funds are intended to strengthen Warsaw's protection of the country's borders (and, accordingly, the borders of the European Union) with Russia and Belarus.

This was reported by the TASS agency with reference to the office of the Polish Prime Minister.

Poland will receive 52 million euros to protect the EU borders, representatives of the chancellery reported.

Officials from this department note that the specified amount of money will be used to strengthen the border's security potential.

In particular, the money will be used to “modernize electronic surveillance equipment.”

Financial resources will also be invested in work related to improving the quality of telecommunications networks.

In addition, a certain portion of the money will go towards purchasing equipment to detect unmanned aerial vehicles.

It should be noted that on Wednesday, December 11, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced the EU allocation of 170 million euros for Finland, the Baltic States and Poland.

These funds, according to her, are intended to ensure the necessary protection of the EU borders with Russia and Belarus.
