Press Secretary of the President of Belarus Natalya Eismont confirmed attempts to launch an international investigation against Alexander Lukashenko.
According to her, the head of state himself spoke about the same thing during his speech on National Unity Day.
Oppositionists who left the country have decided to persuade the West to involve the Belarusian leader in an investigation by the International Criminal Court.
As Eismont reported (a video of her statement was published by the Telegram channel “Pool of the First”, which is close to the press service of the President of Belarus), “this is absolutely accurate information that we have.”
Our fugitives have not found a better way to fight the current government than to try to launch an investigation within the framework of the International Criminal Court,” she said.
According to Eismont, the escaped oppositionists, wanting to achieve their goal, “are simply crawling, asking, begging to bring the President of Belarus to justice.”
By analogy with the Russian leader. They want this incredibly, we know about it, - the press secretary specified.
She also noted that previously, oppositionists now in the West used the situation with Donbass children as a pretext for criticism, claiming that they were allegedly kidnapped.
But in reality, young citizens from Donbass were helped in Belarus, including by undergoing rehabilitation, and then sent home, said Eismont.
