On Thursday, December 12, a meeting of the Security Council of Belarus was held.
During the event, the President approved the plan for the defense of the republic for the period from 2026 to 2030.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces – First Deputy Minister of Defense Pavel Muraveiko shared details of the plan with journalists.
According to him, we are talking about a systemic document that is the foundation of strategic defense planning.
It presents five key areas, the Belta agency quotes the Defense Ministry representative as saying.
This is reducing the level of military danger and preventing military conflicts, he said.
And he continued: it also implies preparing the country for defense, and this will affect all spheres – from military to economic.
In addition, methods of “armed defense in various modern conflicts” are stipulated.
And the idea is to prepare the Belarusian economy for the conditions of “conducting military operations.”
Special attention is paid to issues of maintaining “international peace and security, eliminating manifestations that may affect the security of our country.”
Muraveiko pointed out that the document outlines the measures and government agencies that will implement them.
All of this will subsequently be transformed into the Defense Plan of the Republic of Belarus, the Chief of the General Staff concluded.
