Bloomberg also notes that European countries want to demonstrate their usefulness to Donald Trump, who won the US election, if negotiations begin.

Earlier, the American publication The Wall Street Journal reported that Kyiv intends to declare its readiness for peace.

Trump repeatedly stated his intention to end the conflict in Ukraine during his election campaign. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged that the United States may stop supporting Kyiv if Trump is re-elected.

On June 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a speech at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, named the conditions for resolving the conflict. Among them are Ukraine's refusal to join NATO, the establishment of a non-aligned and non-nuclear status for Ukraine, the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from new regions of the Russian Federation, the lifting of sanctions, and ensuring the rights, freedoms, and interests of Russian-speaking citizens in Ukraine.

Yesterday, Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that at the moment there are no grounds for negotiations.
