It recently became known that the Central Election Commission of Belarus accepted documents to register Alexander Lukashenko as a presidential candidate.
As previously reported, citizens applying for the country's highest official post (those nominated as candidates) must submit the necessary documents to the Central Election Commission between December 7 and 21.
The Belta agency reported that the current head of state provided such documents.
And it reminded me what documents are needed for registration:
- a written statement of consent to run for office;
– biographical data;
– certificates of education, place of work and position;
– declarations of your income and property, as well as the income and property of your spouse and adult close relatives who live together and run a common household.
These documents can be submitted either by the presidential candidates themselves or by those who are their representatives (by proxy).
It was under the power of attorney of Alexander Lukashenko that the head of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, Yuri Senko, submitted documents to the CEC.
Today, under the President’s power of attorney, I submitted documents to the Central Election Commission to register Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko as a presidential candidate, he said.
Please note that registration of candidates is scheduled for the period from December 22 to December 31.
The election campaign starts on the first day of the new year. It will last until January 25.
The elections themselves – the vote – are scheduled to take place on January 26, 2025.
