It has become known when the next meeting of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly is expected to be held.

Most likely, the event will take place after the presidential elections, that is, after January 26 next year.

This was announced by the chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, at the first meeting of the Supreme People's Assembly this year.

This will be a benchmark in January, December even, for the entire Belarusian people. But we will be able to detail it for next year and, perhaps, a view of the five-year plan after the presidential elections, the head of state's press service quotes him as saying.

The head of his Administration, Dmitry Krutoy, confirmed that a decision will probably be made to hold the next meeting of the Supreme Council after the presidential elections.

Because there is an election campaign going on now. There is simply no point in being distracted by these issues, he explained.

The second point that Krutoy pointed out is that there will be time to prepare an election program “with the main messages.”

The Belarusian leader will then begin preparations for his annual spring Address to the people of the country and parliament.

In other words, specific dates for the next meeting of the Supreme Council have not yet been determined, Krutoy added.

For reference
