The head of the Ministry of Energy of Belarus, Alexei Kushnarenko, revealed the details of the agreement between Minsk and Moscow.
This refers to the document on the creation of a unified market for electric energy in the Union State.
This is an important strategic document that lays the legal foundation for the creation of a unified electricity market, Belta quotes the minister as saying.
According to him, the market will be formed in stages. The parties will take into account the specifics of the work of the two energy systems, including their technological and organizational features.
Kushnarenko noted: the market will function on the basis of already developed rules, which are currently being agreed upon.
Presumably, the approval procedure will be completed in the first half of next year, the head of the Belarusian Ministry of Energy specified.
He emphasized that the fundamental principle in this matter is “equality and mutual benefit.”
The signing of this agreement will serve to increase the reliability of energy supply, energy security of Belarus, Russia and the Union State as a whole, the minister is confident.
He added: at the same time as the unified energy market, a similar gas market is being formed.
Well, the practical implementation of the project to create a single energy market for the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus will start in 2025 and will take place in stages.
At the first stage, all contacts will go through authorized network operators, who will be determined by Minsk and Moscow, Kushnarenko said.
