Documents have been submitted to the Central Election Commission of Belarus to register an initiative group to nominate Olga Chemodanova as a presidential candidate.
The Central Election Commission's Telegram channel reported this.
Olga Chemodanova is the head of the main department of ideological work and youth affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee.
She also heads the Minsk city organization of the public association "Belarusian Union of Women".
As reported by BELTA, today at a meeting of the BSW board the association's participation in the election campaign was discussed, and Chemodanova's initiative to run was supported.
We really wanted women to be among the potential candidates, of course,” noted the head of the BSW, Olga Shpilevskaya, following the meeting.
Earlier today, documents were submitted to the Central Election Commission by the leader of the LDBP, Oleg Gaidukevich, and the leader of the RPTS, Oleksandr Khizhnyak.
Yesterday, Alexander Lukashenko’s initiative group was registered.
The Central Election Commission accepts documents for registration of initiative groups until November 1 inclusive.
