The European Union's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, said the conflict in Ukraine had faded into the background.
The head of EU diplomacy made this statement in an interview with the Spanish radio station RNE.
What Borrell said about shifting focus away from the conflict in Ukraine
The EU's top diplomat said the conflict in Ukraine had taken a back seat to the escalation in the Middle East.
Borrell noted that less and less is being said about the Ukrainian conflict.
We no longer talk about the war in Ukraine as much as if it were over, the head of the EU diplomatic service said.
He stressed that the conflict in Ukraine continues with the same intensity.
Speaking about the conflict in the Middle East, Borrell pointed to Israel's systematic failure to comply with United Nations resolutions.
What is happening in the Middle East shows that we have lost our sense of humanity, Borrell noted.
Earlier, the head of EU diplomacy stated that attempts to force Russia to a ceasefire by military means were futility.
