On Monday, October 28, the head of the Belarusian state, Alexander Lukashenko, met with Denis Manturov, a representative of the highest executive body of the Russian Federation.

Several important topics were touched upon during the meeting.

Thus, Lukashenko mentioned the pressure exerted by Western countries on Minsk and Moscow.

The President noted that recently, in conversations with Russians, it has often been mentioned that the West has failed to “bring Belarus and Russia to their knees” and “somehow suppress” them.

Of course, the sectors of the economy that you lead deserve a lot of credit for this, Lukashenko told Manturov. The presidential press service quotes the head of state's words.

One of such sectors, as the Belarusian leader noted, is industry.

Lukashenko emphasized: our country has set itself a serious task - to cope with the dependence on imports together with the Russians.

As a result, the republic began to engage in import substitution. Lukashenko thanked Manturov and the Russian government as a whole for funding a number of relevant projects.

Lukashenko cited the production of the Osvey aircraft as an example.

Lukashenko stressed that Manturov’s support will be very important for Belarus.

Let us recall that since May of this year, Denis Manturov has held the position of First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government.
