At the end of the first month of next year, presidential elections will be held in Belarus.
Now many citizens of our country are probably interested in how many names will be on the ballots.
Of course, it is impossible to name the exact number yet: candidates have not yet been registered.
But one can make an assumption. This is what Igor Karpenko, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, did.
The representative of the Central Election Commission shared his opinion on the ONT TV channel.
How many presidential candidates will there be: Igor Karpenko's assumption
The statesman immediately emphasized that it is still difficult to make a forecast.
However, Karpenko did share his assumption. The CEC Chairman did not rule out that signatures would be collected in five or six groups.
A representative of the Central Election Commission admitted that 3-4 names would be included on the ballots.
Karpenko noted that there is a lot of time left before the presidential elections.
However, politicians who initially planned to become candidates began preparing long before the election date was announced.
The Chairman of the Central Election Commission emphasized that a person wishing to run for office had to begin the election campaign after the previous one had already ended.
Karpenko considers the postponement of relevant actions until the announcement of the voting date and the statement about the lack of time to be signs of political illiteracy.
