The head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Andriy Yermak, said that negotiations need to return to the 2022 borders.
Yermak made this statement in an interview with the Italian publication Corriere della Sera.
What Yermak said about the negotiations and borders of 2022
The head of Zelensky's office stated that Ukraine will not make territorial concessions.
According to the official, the Ukrainian president never expressed readiness for territorial concessions, but was ready to negotiate based on the situation on the eve of the SVO.
To start negotiations, Yermak continued, we need to return to the 2022 borders.
Then we will talk about how to return our sovereignty to the 1991 borders, ” added the head of the Ukrainian presidential office.
Earlier, Yermak demanded that Kyiv's allies speed up arms deliveries.
Russian President Vladimir Putin named recognition of the status of the DPR, LPR, Crimea, and the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions as regions of the Russian Federation among the conditions for negotiations.
Putin's peace proposals, voiced in a speech at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on June 14, also include lifting sanctions, Ukraine's refusal to join the North Atlantic Alliance, and securing the country's non-aligned and non-nuclear status. Kyiv rejected this initiative.
