Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky refused to receive United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on a visit.
The reason was the UN Secretary General’s visit to the BRICS summit in Kazan.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a source in the office of the head of the Ukrainian state.
How Zelensky denied Guterres a visit to Ukraine
On October 23-24, the UN Secretary General took part in the BRICS summit in Kazan.
This was Guterres' first trip to Russia since 2022. As part of the visit, the UN Secretary-General met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
As a source told RBC-Ukraine, Guterres planned to visit Ukraine after the summit, but Kyiv did not accept the proposal.
Therefore, Guterres will not be here, Zelensky’s office said.
