The North Atlantic Alliance's strategy for Ukraine is to keep it fighting.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated this on October 16 at a press conference in Brussels.
The statement by the organization’s head is cited by MIA “Russia Today” .
What Rutte said about NATO's strategy on Ukraine
Journalists asked Rutte about NATO's tasks in the Ukrainian direction.
The NATO Secretary General responded that the alliance intends to prevent Russian President Vladimir Putin from getting what he wants.
This means providing massive assistance to Ukraine so that they can resist, the head of the organization explained.
He stressed that the alliance must do everything to ensure that Ukraine could continue to operate.
According to Rutte, Western assistance should provide Ukraine with a strong negotiating position.
If Zelensky ever decides to start negotiations with Russia, he will do so from a position of strength, the NATO Secretary General added.
