Ukrainian authorities hope to hold a peace summit with Russia's participation by the end of the year.

This was stated by the Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey, Vasyl Bondar.

His statement was quoted by Reuters.

What Bondar said about the peace summit with Russia's participation

The first peace summit on Ukraine took place in June in Switzerland. Kyiv planned to hold the second in November, inviting Russia.

Yesterday, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Daria Zarivna, announced that there will be no summit in November.

According to her, thematic conferences are currently being held on the peace formula of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Following these conferences, Zarivnaya continued, communiqués are adopted, which will become the basis for the peace plan for the second summit.

As Bondar explained, the second summit will not be a direct bilateral meeting between representatives of Ukraine and Russia; negotiations will be conducted through third parties.

We hope to hold this summit before the end of the year, the ambassador said.

He noted that Türkiye, which has tried to maintain warm relations with both Kiev and Moscow, will be an important participant in the summit.
