State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich met today with students and teachers of the Grodno State Medical University.

During the meeting, he answered students’ questions related to the development of the state.

We talked about what is being done in Belarus today to counter modern challenges and threats to ensure security. People today are primarily concerned about peace, BELTA quotes Aleksandr Volfovich as saying.

The State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus noted that Belarusian youth are interested in the peaceful development of the country.

Young people understand how much has been done in 30 years and “what price our independence has.”

It is very valuable that young people are asking themselves what needs to be done to preserve peace, to prevent the events of 2020 from being repeated, and they understand what is happening in Europe and the world,” Volfovich said.

At the same time, it became known that the head of the Security Council of Belarus spoke in detail about the development of the Concept of Security of the Union State.

The document will be discussed at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State.

The current Concept was adopted in 1999, but the world has changed dramatically.

Therefore, the draft of the new Concept reflected the place and role of the Union State in the world, and also formulated “modern priority areas for ensuring the security of the Union State.”

The document was developed based on an analysis of key trends in the security sector.

Of course, the focus of the concept remains unchanged - to create all the necessary conditions for maintaining peace and stability on the territory of our countries, and to guarantee the security of the Union State. These are the basic provisions of the entire Union security system that we have built over the years under the leadership of the presidents of Belarus and Russia, - emphasized Alexander Volfovich.
