German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz announced the need to hold a peace conference with the participation of both Ukraine and Russia.
The German Chancellor made this statement on October 2 at a meeting with citizens in Schwerin.

The head of the German government announced the need to organize a peace conference to follow up on the one held in Switzerland in June.
In which Ukraine and Russia will take part. And we must create conditions for this, Scholz said.
He noted that he intends to raise this issue during talks with US President Joseph Biden in early October and at the upcoming meeting in Ramstein.
The German Chancellor also stated that Germany will continue to support Ukraine.
On September 8, Scholz, in an interview with the German television channel ZDF, said that the time had come for negotiations on Ukraine, and spoke in favor of Russia's participation in the next peace summit.
On September 12, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, at a meeting with heads of diplomatic missions in the format of a round table on Ukraine, stated that Moscow is committed to resolving the conflict, but does not see a reciprocal willingness for honest diplomacy.
