The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, called on the EU countries to allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike Russian airports with Western weapons.
The head of the EU foreign policy service announced this on September 30 in his weekly blog.
What Borrell said about the strikes on Russian airports
The head of European diplomacy called on EU countries to allow Ukraine to strike airports and launch sites in Russia with Western weapons.
According to him, Ukraine should hit the archers, not just the arrows.
Not everyone agrees with this measure yet, Borrell stated.
He recalled that EU countries promised to support Ukraine as long as necessary.
The energy front will be decisive this winter, the EU diplomat added.
