Belarus' application to join BRICS will be considered in the very near future.
This information was announced by the head of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maxim Ryzhenkov, on the sidelines of the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly.

What Ryzhenkov said about Belarus' bid to join BRICS
The head of Belarusian diplomacy reported that consideration of Belarus' application is expected in the very near future.
According to him, as part of the next wave of BRICS expansion, a number of countries will be granted partner country status.
The first wave of expansion will take place at the summit in Kazan, said the head of the foreign policy department.
Ryzhenkov specified that the first wave of expansion will include about 10 countries.
The BRICS summit in Kazan is scheduled for the second half of October.
