US President Joseph Biden and his advisers are skeptical about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's victory plan.
The American publication Politico reports this, citing sources.
What is known about Biden's doubts about Zelensky's victory
Yesterday, during a visit to the United States, the Ukrainian President presented Biden with his plan for victory.
According to Politico, the American leader and his closest aides are “somewhat hesitant” about this plan.
In particular, they question Zelensky’s decision to attack the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
Which diverted troops from the front line in Donetsk, the publication notes.
Politico also writes that the Biden administration is concerned about the long-term trajectory of the conflict.
On September 24, the Ukrainian president, in an interview with the American television channel ABC News, stated that his plan for victory was not connected with negotiations with Moscow, but was aimed at strengthening the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack on Russia's Kursk region began on August 6. A federal state of emergency has been declared in the region, and border residents are being evacuated.
Following the attack on the Kursk region, Russian President Vladimir Putin called negotiations impossible with those who attack civilian infrastructure or create threats to nuclear power facilities.
Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov later stated that Russia's peace proposals for a settlement, voiced earlier by the Russian president, have not been cancelled, but at this stage Moscow will not negotiate with Kiev.
