Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has warned that an attack on the country would be the start of a third world war.
The head of state made this statement at a ceremonial event to mark National Unity Day.

What Lukashenko said about the third world war
The President recalled that large-scale wars and conflicts have always swept across the territory of Belarus, and stated that the United States is pushing Ukraine into confrontation with Belarus.
The head of state warned Belarus' opponents against committing aggression.
The attack on Belarus, remember this, is the third world war, Lukashenko emphasized.
He clarified that this does not mean that Belarusians need to be tense and worried, and assured that the authorities are doing everything to ensure that there is no more war on Belarusian soil.
The President emphasized that the older generation is full of desire to pass on to their descendants a peaceful, dignified and beautiful land where they can live and raise children. The hall greeted this statement by the head of state with applause.
