Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky doubted the existence of the peace plan of the head of the German government Olaf Scholz.
The Ukrainian leader made a corresponding statement on September 11 on the fields of the Crimean platform.
Zelensky's words are quoted by the Ukrainian publication "Strana".
What Zelensky said about Scholz's peace plan
The head of the Ukrainian state stated that Kyiv knows nothing about the German Chancellor’s peace plan.
I’m not even sure that such a plan exists, ” the Ukrainian president noted.
Zelensky stressed that there can be no plans for Ukraine without Ukraine’s participation.
On September 9, the Italian publication La Repubblica, citing a source close to the German government and the SPD, reported that the German Chancellor is preparing her own peace plan for Ukraine, which includes territorial concessions from Kyiv.
The day before, Scholz said in an interview that the time had come for negotiations and spoke in favor of Russia's participation in a new peace conference on Ukraine.
The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov stated that the Kremlin knows no more about the German Chancellor’s peace plan than what was reported in the media.
According to the Kremlin spokesman, Russia is not rejecting any initiatives, but it is important to understand what we are talking about.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated today that Germany did not pass on information about Scholz's peace plan to Russia.
The first peace conference on Ukraine took place on June 15-16 in Switzerland. Russia was not invited, and China did not participate.
Not a single BRICS country supported the final statement. Zakharova noted that the event turned into a complete fiasco and such gatherings cannot become the basis for lasting peace.
