The televised debates between US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris took place.
During the event, the first – a Republican representative – stated that it was in the interests of his country to end the Russian-Ukrainian confrontation.
He stated this in response to a question about whether Kiev’s victory in the conflict would be beneficial to the United States, TASS reports .
There was no direct answer from Trump to the question posed, but he spoke about America's interests.
The politician also pointed out the fact that Washington is interested in ending hostilities and reaching a peace agreement.
I think it's in the interests of the United States to end this war and negotiate a deal because we need to stop the destruction of human lives, Trump said.
By the way, he has previously repeatedly stated the need to end the confrontation.
In particular, he said that if he were now the President of the United States, he would not allow the conflict in Ukraine.
He also assured the public that if he is elected head of state in the November elections, he will achieve an end to the standoff within 24 hours.
