The popular American newspaper The Wall Street Journal has learned that more and more Ukrainian residents are in favor of peace negotiations with Russia.

According to the author of the article published on its pages, the Ukrainian public is becoming war-weary.

The journalist reported that he was told about this by one of the commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, whose name, rank, position and the unit in which he serves are not given.

There is war fatigue among the Western public, and there is definitely some among the Ukrainian public, MIA Rossiya Segodnya quotes the man as saying.

In turn, the observer adds: after last year’s failure of the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the number of citizens in Ukraine who want peace negotiations with Russia is growing.

There is also a growing number of Ukrainians who want these negotiations to end with “some kind of peace deal.”

The journalist quotes an unnamed Ukrainian woman whose husband, according to his information, serves in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The woman, the author of the article notes, says that she agrees with the opinion about the need to give up territories controlled by Kyiv for the sake of peace.
