How Nuland admitted US involvement in the breakdown of Ukraine-Russia talks in Istanbul
The former US Deputy Secretary of State noted that Washington did not participate in the Ukrainian-Russian negotiations in Istanbul and was not very aware of the details of the deal.
However, according to Nuland, at one of the late stages of the negotiations, Kyiv began asking for advice on “where this was all going.”
The former US Deputy Secretary of State did not directly say that Washington did not approve of the agreement between Kiev and Moscow, but stated that the US had come to understand that Russia's main condition was disadvantageous for Ukraine, since it allegedly consisted of its "neutralization" in military terms without imposing similar restrictions on the Russian Federation.
According to the former US deputy secretary of state, people in Ukraine and beyond have begun to ask questions about whether the deal with Russia is a good one.
And that's when it all fell apart, " Nuland added.
