The head of the Central Electoral Commission of Belarus, Igor Karpenko, informed his compatriots about preparations for the upcoming electoral campaign.

According to him, the end of any election campaign is the start of preparation for the next such event.

In fact, we are analyzing what happened, how it happened, how the legislation was applied, whether there is a need to make changes or additions to legislative acts, the head of the Central Election Commission was quoted by the Belta agency as saying.

Karpenko specifically addressed the issue of training potential election organizers.

According to his statement, it was launched “on a systemic basis” through the Presidential Academy of Public Administration.

Now “we are moving towards local preparation in the regions,” Karpenko said.

He specified: relevant courses are being opened at educational development institutes, including Gomel.

They are organized for potential candidates for work in territorial, district, and precinct commissions.

These people “will implement the electoral process in practice,” the CEC Chairman noted.

We are ready for the final stage of the political modernization that will be the President’s election campaign,” he added.

As for the timing of the elections, the parliament will make a decision on this issue.

As soon as a decision is made, the Central Election Commission will begin organizing all processes that must take place in accordance with the law, Karpenko summed up.
