There is no need to touch a cat's nose to determine how a domestic cat is feeling. A wet nose or a dry and hot one are not the most accurate symptoms of a developing illness.
Experts advise monitoring the cat's overall health, assessing its behavior, appetite, and appearance.
What to look out for
1. You should be wary of a pet that does not move from one place for days and does not react to external stimuli. Including those that scared it before.
2. If the animal refuses its favorite food, water, or vice versa - drinks only water, but does not eat.
3. If breathing is disturbed or changed, wheezing appears, or the heart rhythm changes noticeably.
4. An alarming symptom may include vomiting, purulent or watery eyes, bowel movements, etc.
5. And one more sign is the animal’s emerging nervousness.
A sick cat may become more fearful and often chooses places where no one will disturb it.
For reference
A symptom is one of the individual signs, a particular manifestation of a disease, pathological condition, or disruption of a vital process.
