A cat's desire to hide is a very bad sign.
If a fluffy creature suddenly wanted to appear “invisible,” it means that it either felt vulnerable or was very scared of something.
Of course, a cat owner cannot ignore such a situation.
But you shouldn’t try to pull your four-legged friend out of the “shelter”.
Before taking action, the owner of a furry friend should analyze the possible reasons for the pet’s strange behavior.
Why is the cat hiding?
There are several possible explanations:
- Perhaps the purr is in pain. The disease makes the animal feel vulnerable and seek shelter to protect itself from "predators".
- It is possible that the animal felt danger due to the appearance of strangers in the house. Most often, we are talking about guests.
- Or it could be that the cat was frightened by a loud sound.
- There is also a possible reason: a change in the furnishings in your home. Perhaps you recently rearranged your furniture.
- Another reason that is quite common is the appearance of another fluffy creature in the house.
What should the owner do if the cat starts hiding?
The main rule is: "Don't make the situation worse."
Don't make noise, don't scold the cat, don't try to pull it out... In general, don't scare the animal even more.
Let your four-legged friend calm down on his own and stop hiding.
If you suspect that your cat was in "hiding" due to pain and not due to external factors, then take the animal to a veterinary clinic.
