When a puppy first arrives in a new home, it immediately requires water and food, which means bowls for food and water.

It is worth taking care of their availability in advance, fortunately there is plenty to choose from: stores with goods for pets offer a wide variety of products.

When it comes to bowls, you can usually find three options:

  • plastic;
  • ceramic;
  • metal.

Plastic bowls

The plastic option is the most affordable. Plastic bowls come in different sizes, shapes, and colors.

Choose one that is made of high-quality plastic: it is dense to the touch and does not have a strong smell.

It is also worth considering the size, since it is inconvenient for small puppies to eat from large bowls, they can climb into them with their paws, and a small bowl is also not suitable for large babies - the food will spill out onto the floor.

Also note that active puppies move the bowl. Of course, this makes it uncomfortable for them to eat, so a ceramic model would be more suitable for them.

Ceramic bowls

Bowls made of this material are heavy, stable and durable. They do not tip over or absorb odors, they are easy to clean, and the variety of designs allows you to choose a beautiful bowl for your puppy.

Again, it is very important to choose the right size.

As for the disadvantages, the main one is the fragility of such bowls. If chips or cracks appear, the bowl should be replaced to avoid injury to your pet.

Metal bowls

Metal bowls are more expensive, but they are reliable and durable. They are easy to clean and retain their appearance for many years.

For ease of feeding your puppy, it is recommended to use a metal bowl with a non-slip stand.

It is especially important to have a stand for animals with long ears to prevent food from getting into their ears.
