Many people have probably watched with affection as dogs frolic in the water and literally do not want to get out of it.
Some owners deliberately look for bodies of water in which their dog can swim calmly, without being distracted by anything.
However, some people have to deal with a very unusual phenomenon in their own experience: they literally cannot drag the animal into the water by force. The thought immediately comes to mind that something is wrong with the dog. But these are premature conclusions.
Do all dogs like to swim?
Experts note that not everyone is delighted at the sight of a river or lake. Some dogs simply do not want to lose control of the situation, and being in the water prevents this. Therefore, the dog will resist your decision to bathe him.
Other dogs are almost as afraid of water as cats. This is an individual reaction that is difficult to explain.
Large dogs do not like to bathe, as it is simply difficult for them. Especially if we are talking about an animal with a massive body and weak paws.
It is unlikely that an overweight dog will want to swim: this "entertainment" will also be difficult for it. There are also dog breeds that do not like to swim at the genetic level.
