Have you ever noticed that small dogs tend to be more aggressive and noisy compared to their larger “brothers”?
To establish the reason for this behavior, Finnish researchers began studying the behavior of pets - 9 thousand animals across the country took part in the experiment.
Scientists considered growling, barking, teeth clicking and biting to be aggressive behavior.
The study showed that, according to these parameters, the most aggressive are pure “miniature” breeds: Chihuahuas came in first place, followed by miniature poodles and miniature schnauzers, and Labradors were recognized as the calmest.
During the observations, it was also possible to establish another interesting fact: males show more aggression than females, and old dogs are more aggressive than young ones.
In search of an answer to the question of why small dogs so often show aggression, scientists have found that the reason is the animal’s fear of a stranger or another dog.
Due to their small size, pets feel vulnerable.
But that's not all: the reason may be the negligence of the owners themselves. Let us explain: since "pocket" breeds are small in size, people consider them harmless and do not try to correct their aggressive behavior.
