You have probably come across a ban that applies to dogs visiting public places.
Dogs (sometimes service dogs) are not allowed into stores, hospitals and other public places.
However, studies have shown that not allowing people's four-legged friends into various establishments for reasons of hygiene is at the very least stupid.
The reason was published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
The article says that during the experiment, scientists took samples from the paws of service dogs - 25 dogs were tested. The soles of the owners' feet were also analyzed.
They were tested for fecal and diarrheal bacteria.
Thus, bacteria that can cause diarrhea were not found on the paws of dogs at all, while they were noticed on the sole of one of the people.
As a result, it was possible to establish that the dogs' paws were cleaner than the soles of their owners' shoes.
