The first thing you should do before you start trying to handle a wild kitten is to determine the degree of its fear or aggression.
The most difficult situations are when the animal hisses at a person or shows aggression. Such feral cats most likely have not received affection from people for a long time or were born on the street.
If a kitten meows and does not run away when it sees a person, it was probably kicked out into the street recently.
Of course, you should be extremely careful in the first case – the result of incorrect actions may be the escape of the animal. Take the kitten in your arms with caution, trying not to grab it by the tail or paw. You can use a carrier.
In the new home, give the kitten time to get used to it on its own so that it feels more comfortable. Then gradually show it where the food and toilet are.
Don't yell at your pet and especially don't hit him. If he understands that he is not in any danger, after satisfying his hunger he will choose a place to sleep himself.
After this, you can begin to tame the kitten - when it remembers where its food is and stops hiding.
To start, try feeding him from your hand and trying to pet him.
If after this your pet tries to escape, do not chase him, but simply repeat the trick with the treat from your hand.
If the animal's reaction to petting is normal, try taking it on your lap. After a while, repeat everything you did to help your pet understand that it can feel comfortable with you.
