Can You Get Rid of Fleas on a Cat with Tar Soap: Surprisingly, It Works

There are many ways to rid your pet of various parasites, and tar soap is one of them.

If you want the product to be effective, you should know how to use it correctly.

Prepare soap, two towels and a basin (bath) with warm water (38-40 degrees). There should be enough water to cover only the animal's paws.

Place the cat in the container prepared for it and lather it with tar soap to create a rich lather.

At the same time, you should ensure that the soap does not get into your pet’s eyes, nose, or ears.

Carefully distribute the product over the entire body of the animal - even in hard-to-reach places, so that all the fur is “saturated” with foam.

After this, take the cat out of the water, wrap it in an old towel or thick cloth to enhance the effect of the tar on fleas. Leave the pet in a soapy state for 10 minutes.

Then put your cat in the shower to rinse off the soap solution. Rinse the fur thoroughly – this is a must, otherwise your pet will swallow the soap when licking itself.

Use a fine-tooth comb to remove as many fleas as possible from the coat.

All that remains is to dry your pet with a dry towel and comb out any remaining fleas and their larvae.

Earlier we told you what you definitely shouldn’t do if your cat peed in your shoes.
