Why You Shouldn't Photograph Dogs: Veterinarians Are Against It

Veterinarians are categorically against photo sessions with your pet, and here's why.

In fact, the negative attitude towards photography does not apply to all of them, but only to those that can harm the animal.

An owner who decides to put his pet in danger for the sake of a funny photo will certainly face condemnation.

For example, you shouldn't even force dogs to jump too high to get a good photo, as this can put a lot of strain on their joints when landing.

Another danger that dogs face is the use of flash photography.

Because dogs' eyes are several times more sensitive than humans', they are unable to tolerate harsh and bright light.

Thus, the flash can damage the cornea of the eye, cause visual impairment or temporary blindness lasting more than a minute.

It's time to draw a conclusion: veterinarians believe (and there is no reason to disagree with them) that if you photograph dogs without using tricks and flashes, the pet will be happy to receive attention and will happily pose for the camera for a small reward.

Earlier we talked about why cats often lie on the stomachs of pregnant women.
