During the warm season, when our pets walk outside, they may be in danger in the form of insects.
Insect bites can be very painful and unpleasant for animals.
What is the danger of insect bites
The danger is that poisons can cause a severe allergic reaction.
In addition, mosquitoes are carriers of dirofilaria, a deadly helminth that affects the heart, and a tick bite can cause encephalitis.
What to do if your pet is bitten
If you notice that your pet has been bitten by an insect, you should take immediate action.
If you see a stinger, it needs to be removed. Bees leave a stinger after stinging, and other insects can sting multiple times, so it is important to remove your pet from the area where it was “attacked” as soon as possible.
To reduce swelling and relieve pain, it is recommended to apply a cold compress to the bite site.
After this, all you have to do is observe your pet and, if its condition worsens, seek veterinary help.
