According to cynologists, in the world of dogs, issues of friendship are resolved according to their own special rules.

Dogs determine differently who among their fellows to be friends with. Moreover, in each case, different motivations and principles are at work.

Dogs are "friends" with people because a strong bond is formed between them during life: the owner feeds the pet, plays, communicates. Dogs are friends with other animals selectively, choosing friends based on their sympathies, writes "Veterinary Science and Life" with reference to RKF experts.

Friends among dogs

According to dog experts, dogs can like different things.

One dog may be active and sociable, while another just needs to look at his fellow dogs.

The main thing is that the animal has a mutual interest. There is no point in forcing friendship because the owner wants it that way.

But for young dogs under six months of age, communication with their fellow dogs is simply necessary, because at this age they form ideas about the world and those around them.

Without this, the dog may grow up to be annoying, aggressive or cowardly.

Earlier we talked about why cats like to sniff or lick their owner’s feet.
