Howling is one of the elements of dog language – this is how they communicate or express emotions.
By howling they mark their territory and give signals to those who lag behind the pack.
Howling is an alternative to barking - there are breeds that bark rarely, but howl quite often.
Let's see which dogs just love to howl.
What breeds simply love to howl
Here are some options.
- Husky. Leader in expressing pack instinct through howling. They can thus show their character.
- Alaskan Malamute. For them, howling is a habit that is reinforced by genetics. Unfortunately, this habit is almost impossible to correct.
- Basenjis: They are poor barkers due to the structure of their larynx, but they are excellent howlers.
- Basset Hound. These owners of a self-confident and energetic character can howl for a long time, complaining of loneliness and melancholy.
- East European Laika. A working dog that is used to being around people. But if there is no person around, the pet howls.
