Many people think that all animals from the shelter are very friendly - they jump into your arms and accept any treats.
But these are just stereotypes about homeless animals. They can have different characters, habits and pasts.
Fortunately, it's not really that bad.
But don't think that choosing an animal from a shelter will be a walk in the park.
What Myths About Shelter Animals Should Be Debunked
Here are some misconceptions.
- Animals from the shelter are aggressive. This is not necessary, since they come to the shelter not only from the street.
- They are infectious and sick. They are treated for parasites and quarantined.
- It is difficult to guess the character. In fact, the animal's reaction is visible almost immediately.
- They adapt poorly at home. If you encourage the right reactions, the animal will get used to it.
- Only large sizes. There are animals of all sizes.
- Only mongrel individuals. If you are lucky, you can find a purebred animal.
