Having decided to get a pet, many people forget about one important point.
We are talking about the presence of pots with indoor plants or vases with flowers in the apartment.
But some representatives of the flora pose a serious danger to cats.
If a furry four-legged friend has appeared in your home, you need to urgently remove some plants from the rooms.
Why this needs to be done
The thing is that many pets, having paid attention to beautiful flowers or leaves, begin to taste them. This is a peculiarity of the behavior of curious cats.
There is nothing good about this: it is possible that the plant juice will be dangerous for the animal.
And then the pet will face health problems. Poisoning may lead to fatal consequences.
Plants That Are Dangerous For Cats
The following indoor plants are poisonous to pets:
- asparagus;
- haemanthus;
- geranium;
- dieffenbachia;
- crinum.
It is possible that the animal will become ill if it starts chewing parts of the following flora:
- aloe;
- begonia;
- Decembrist;
- dracaena;
- monstera.
Important reminder for ladies: some bouquets given to you can also be dangerous for cats. Make sure your pet does not pay attention to the following flowers:
- lilies of the valley;
- lilies;
- peonies;
- tulips;
- chrysanthemums.
If a plant is not on any list, it does not mean that it is definitely safe for your pet. It is advisable to study special literature to make sure that a particular flower is harmless to your pet.
Or better yet, play it safe and remove all indoor plants from the apartment. If you want to decorate the premises, you can use artificial flowers.
