Cats usually respond positively to affection from humans.
But sometimes the fluffy one bites or scratches the one who tries to pet him.
And sometimes a pet “punishes” not a stranger, but its own owner.
What is the reason for such an aggressive reaction of the animal to affection? There are three possible explanations.
The cat was petted incorrectly
Fluffy animals hate being stroked against their grain. Almost everyone knows this. But sometimes even experienced owners make a mistake.
In addition, cats do not like to be petted "in the wrong place". If the owner's palm is on the pet's head or on the back of the neck, then everything will be fine.
But if a person touches the belly or tail of an animal, the consequences may not be the most pleasant.
The cat was picked up incorrectly
Some people pick up their pet before petting it.
And the fluffy one will probably bite a person lightly and “warningly” if it experiences pain or discomfort.
And this is possible if the animal has nowhere to put its hind legs.
The cat was petted at the "wrong time"
A pet may use its teeth or claws if a person starts petting it at the wrong moment.
An aggressive reaction from the cat is possible if the fluffy one is woken up.
Also, you shouldn't touch a tired cat who clearly wants to be alone and rest.
