Sometimes cats truly surprise their owners with, to put it mildly, unusual behavior - for example, when they lick their owner's hair.
Let's figure out why our pets take such a "desperate" step.
The two most common reasons are social behavior and the taste and aroma emanating from the hair, which for some reason is attractive (or not) to cats.
1. Social behavior
Licking is a common grooming behavior that is one of the social behaviors common to cats.
Our pets use their tongues not only when they themselves need to be primped, but also when they believe that their “fellow tribe member” needs care, thereby showing concern for another cat.
A beloved owner is no exception: it is quite normal for cats to comb a person with their tongue to show their affection and trust.
2. Taste or aroma
An animal may like a shampoo or styling product so much that it cannot resist trying it.
But it can also be the other way around - if a cat licks your hair as if spitting, it means that something is not to her liking.
