Many people adore their cats and want to admire them for a long time.
Sometimes you feel like you want to look your pet straight in the eyes.
But it is important to keep in mind that such visual contact can only be positively assessed by another person.
Animals perceive eye-to-eye contact in a completely different way: they certainly don’t consider it a manifestation of love and affection.
The dangers of staring into an animal's eyes
If a person looks straight into a cat's eyes for a long time without blinking, the pet may perceive what is happening as a direct threat.
It is possible that the animal will come to the erroneous conclusion that its owner is ready to attack it.
And this is explained very simply: pets need a lot of time to focus their vision. They believe that other creatures face the same problem. Therefore, a furry creature may decide that a long look from a person is an attempt to study the "rival".
A cat that is being stared at may have instincts that kick in. It is possible that the pet will scratch its owner.
But even if the four-legged friend does not attack the person, the latter should still stop looking into the animal's eyes for a long time. After all, such a look causes stress for the cat.
