Have you ever wondered if cats can distinguish their owner's voice from the voices of other people?
Scientists decided to dot the i's and cross the t's and conducted a study involving 20 animals.
They were asked to listen to a recording of the owner's voice and three other people they did not know.
The results of the experiment showed that all animals demonstrated the greatest activity at the moment when they heard a voice that was familiar to them.
In addition to all this, the researchers were able to confirm that cats understand perfectly well when they are addressed, but do not consider it necessary to respond.
According to the same scientists, the explanation for such a reaction can be found in ancient times, when the domestication of cats was just beginning.
Unlike dogs, humans did not consider it necessary to bother with training purring balls of fur.
For this reason, cats have a character built in to the idea that they are the main ones in the family.
