If you are already a happy owner of a dog, but have decided to get another one, you will have to make some effort to ensure that the dogs become friends.
The first introduction of dogs should take place outside. Ask a friend to take one of the pets.
If the dogs have not shown aggression, allow them to get closer and play. For good behavior, the "old-timer" of the family should be treated with something tasty.
If everything did not go so smoothly, and one of the animals began to show aggression, try to repeat the operation called “acquaintance” the next day.
Now that you are sure that the dogs get along outside the home, you can move on to the next step – introducing them to each other in the apartment.
First, you should bring the newcomer into the room, and only then the first dog: this will reduce the chances that the devoted pet will begin to defend its territory.
If everything goes according to plan, allow the tails to come closer to each other and do not forget to reward friendly behavior.
After 10-15 minutes, separate the dogs. Don't miss the right moment: it's important that the new friends part on a friendly note.
Continue repeating this step until the dogs get along well with each other.
