If you suddenly happen to hear your cat sneezing, you shouldn’t worry, because this is a normal reaction of the body, which wants to get rid of an irritant that has entered the upper respiratory tract.
However, if the situation repeats itself with enviable regularity, you should be wary: some of the reasons that cause sneezing may hide a threat to the pet's health.
1. Allergy
It would be a mistake to assume that allergic reactions are unique to humans - our smaller brothers also suffer from allergies.
Typically, sneezing in this case is accompanied by other symptoms, including shortness of breath, discharge from the eyes and skin rashes.
2. Infection
Cats are also susceptible to infectious diseases.
In addition to sneezing, the following signs will help to recognize the infection: weakness, discharge from the eyes and nose, fever, vomiting and diarrhea. Sometimes the animal may refuse to eat.
3. Other diseases
Sneezing can also accompany such diseases that are dangerous for cats as rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia, chlamydia, toxoplasmosis and others.
4. Foreign body
Sometimes a cat sneezes because a foreign object, for example, a small insect, has gotten into its nose, which is not surprising, because cats are explorers, and their nose serves as a tool for understanding the world around them.
Finally, let us remind you: you should not diagnose your pet yourself. If the cat's condition is alarming, show it to the vet.
